There are a two ways to read you cholesterol.
The first is the mmol/L(millimoles/liter) which is is the world standard unit for measuring glucose in blood.
The second is mg/dL (cholesterol levels in milligrams per deciliter of blood) which is the traditional unit for measuring bG (blood Glucose).
To convert mmol/l of glucose to mg/dl, multiply by 18. To convert mg/dl of glucose to mmol/l, divide by 18 or multiply by 0.055.
What is the normal cholesterol level that you should have? Below is a general guideline for all the 4 cholesterol reading.
Total Cholesterol [mmol/L (mg/dl)]
Desirable: <5.2 (<200 is the best)
Borderline High: 5.2 - 6.2 (200 - 239)
High: >=6.2 (>=240)
LDL Cholesterol [mmol/L (mg/dl)]
Desirable: <3.3 (<130)
Borderline High: 3.3 - 4.1 (130 - 159)
High: >=4.1 (>=160)
HDL Cholesterol [mmol/L (mg/dl)]
Acceptable: >=0.9 (>=35)
Risky: <0.9 (<35)
Triglyceride [mmol/L (mg/dl)]
Desirable: <2.3 (<200)

hi norashikin,
your bad cholesterol is too high! you should keep it under 2.58.
Try to take oats regularly and take more vegetable and fruits (more fibre).
Cut down on fried food, chicken skin, seafood.
Good luck! =)

Someone should note that cholesterol and glucose are two totally different things! Cholesterol is a fat, glucose is blood sugar. The conversion for cholesterol is mmol/L x 38.67 to get your mg/dL.
