I am not a perfume-person. But sometimes, on special occasion I like to sprits a little on myself to feel special and happy. I have some perfumes or so I thought they are, but with so many labels on the market like ‘Eau de parfum’, ‘Eau de toilette’, ‘Eau de cologne’ and body splash, I am confused!

After some googling, here is what I found :

1)      Perfume : Contains anywhere from 15 to 40% perfume concentrate. Last longer and require less application than the other products.

2)      Eau de Parfum  : Containing 7 to 15% concentrate, lasts a long time and is less costly than perfume.

3)      Eau de Toilette, or EDT : less potent with 1 to 6% concentrate. Light and does not last as long as the above mentioned fragrances.

4)      Eau de cologne : began as a fragrance combined with citrus oils. It was often used by Napoleon. A modern version of this eau de cologne is known as eau fraiche.
5)      Body splash has very little perfume concentrate.Â

Other facts to take note of : -    Â
-        Generally, dry skin does not hold fragrance very long. Conversely, oily skin holds fragrance very well. Info extracted from here.
